Le Psy Bar vins et fromages: A Unique Wine & Cheese Experience in Montreal

Did not eat so not sure on the food but the service wonderful and vibe was very speak easy ish.....was great! Very knowledgeable about wine and a huge selection will available by the glass.

Chill quiet wine bar. Excellent friendly efficient service. Wine suggestions were great. Cheeseboard is definitely recommended, especially with chorizo. Unfortunately the idea to have grilled cheeses with fancy cheeses is interesting in theory but doesn't work in practice. The bread wasn't anything special and was kinda burnt. Should have come with a spread or side to bring out the flavour of the cheese. The French onion soup was really bitter. Not a big fan of the red wine sausage.

AMAZING. I am so so pleased with our visit. My only complaint is that I found this place so late in my visit to Montreal. Wonderful, friendly owners. (and btw, I just read a previous review accusing the owner of racism and not from what I saw. When I went there was a black couple, someone who appeared to be middle eastern - I didn't recognize the language) and I can tell you that all staff was gracious and hospitable to everyone in there. We will be sure to make this a regular stop. Wonderful wine selections, GREAT cheese and meat boards. Just perfect. Bravo!

I love me some grilled cheese, so I of course loved this place. It’s near some younger bars but when you walk in you are transported to a more upscale environment. I got three mini grilled cheeses which were so yummy and then an espresso martini that was absolutely delicious. The prices were far and the service was fab I will definitely be back.

Genuinely one of the best bars I’ve been to in my life. We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and ending up having the best time courtesy of the waitress. The drinks were excellent and she was able to provide recommendations that we both loved! The charcuterie board was incredible and I will be thinking about the Olive Tapenade for a very long time. Overall incredible food, amazing service and just a really good vibe. Would definitely recommend!!

A group of friends and I were in Montreal for a couple of days and decided to stop by Le Psy for a quick drink and a light bite before continuing our night. What was meant to be a short visit turned into hours—thanks to the soft lighting, great music, and incredibly warm, welcoming atmosphere. Jean-Yves is truly one of the most gracious and charming restaurateurs I’ve ever met. Although our group was mostly English-speaking, he made us feel completely at home—like longtime friends by the end of the night. I could go on about how special the experience was, but I need to mention the food and drinks before you stop reading. French onion soup is my favorite dish in the world—and a tricky one to get just right—but they’ve mastered it here. Every bite had the perfect balance: rich broth, caramelized onions, and a bold cheese crust that left us craving more. It simply is one of the best I've ever had. I paired it with a fantastic Old Fashioned that was as delicious as it was entertaining to watch being crafted. But the star of the night—one of the highlights of our entire trip—was the espresso martini. I’ve never had anything like it. When we asked how to recreate it, Jean-Yves generously walked us through the process, step by step. On a trip where we set out to taste everything Montreal had to offer, we ended up returning to Le Psy the very next night. If you’re still reading this, do yourself a favor, pull up a stool at Le Psy, and treat yourself to an unforgettable meal, a vibrant atmosphere, and some of the kindest people Montreal has to offer. Amazing place for drinks and a cheese and charcuterie plate. Lots of options for cocktails which is nice. We got the aperol which was great. Highly recommend coming here for a midday snack break.
